• Devon a poor relation:- Central Government is too often geared to provide for inner cities failing to recognise the special needs of a rural County such as Devon.

  • We should embrace Europe as:- Partners in trade, as allies but not as our masters.

  • Education in Devon:- Governments of all Political Parties have let our children down and failed to fund our schools fairly.

  • Devon's Ageing Population:- Yet another challenge as we face more demands for care in our community with less funding from Central Government.

  • National Health Service:- We have a right to expect more essential services to be delivered locally.

Working with Nature to Control the drifting sand at Instow

Rodney helped secure Devon County Council funding for the scheme to help stabilising the sand on Instow beach. The scheme was designed to extend the dunes and trap the sand. It will encourage the sand to build up on the front face of the dunes, extending them seawards and reducing the amount of sand collecting on the beach. Rodney said: "We recognise that if we work with nature not against it, we are more likely to achieve long term success.

This scheme, designed with community consultation, will reduce the ongoing problem of sand building up on the footpaths and highway and regularly blocking drainage systems."

Traffic Lights Improve Safety at Westleigh Accident Black Spot

Most drivers inform me they feel confident when using the junction and the predicted long delays are minimal in practice. The small army of critics who said traffic lights would be disastrous and criticised me personally for fighting for the scheme have remained strangely silent now they have proven to be wrong.
