Rodney Cann - North Devon's Independent Candidate

Dear Elector,

If ever there was a time for North Devon to be represented by a strong independent and experienced voice it is now. Many MPs have let us down and shattered trust in our Parliamentary system. We have to reform and strengthen our democracy to restore trust in Government. MPs from all Political Parties have scandalously misused our money for personal gain and must accept responsibility.

Devon a poor relation:- Central Government is too often geared to provide for inner cities failing to recognise the special needs of a rural County such as Devon.
We should embrace Europe as:- Partners in trade, as allies but not as our masters.
Education in Devon:- Governments of all Political Parties have let our children down and failed to fund our schools fairly.
Devon's Ageing Population:- Yet another challenge as we face more demands for care in our community with less funding from Central Government.
National Health Service:- We have a right to expect more essential services to be delivered locally.

Rodney delivers

When the Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Authority decided to abandon the full time manning of the Ilfracombe Fire Station. Rodney took up the cudgel as a member of the Fire Authority and was directly responsible for saving the full time manning of the Fire Station.

North Devon Decides

Given the current uncertainties, it is incumbent on us, here in North Devon, to elect a Member of Parliament who stands aloof from Party, but who will support a Government according to conscience.
